Ever since the recent update of my S7 to Nougat I've been having the frustrating problem of the new Device Maintenance app CONSTANTLY reminding me that apps running in the background are draining my battery. Literally once an hour. I don't care. I want it to stop but there doesn't seem to be any way of shutting this incredibly annoying new feature off. I can't uninstall it or shut off notifications either through the app itself or in the S7's notifications settings.

    Anyone know how?

    Hi magerb,

I'm having problems getting into Settings, as soon as I open, Device Maintenance takes over and I can't see the Settings menu.

Any ideas as to why this is happening and/or how to stop it?

You don't have to wait for Device Maintenance to finish, just go ahead and short-press the Battery icon at the bottom left.
