    Hello,

When I shoot photos with my Samsung Galaxy s7 (4032x3024) horizontally they are not filling up the entire screen and instead leaving black borders on the left and right. However when I shoot video it fills up the entire screen. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks!

For pictures you're selecting a 4:3 ratio picture, but your screen and video are 16:9, so video will fill the screen, but the picture will need to be adjusted to fit the screen, which means the sides will be empty.

Now, the phone's sensor is 4:3, so selecting to take pictures in 16:9 will 'fix' the problem with black bars on the sides, but you're effectively 'losing' image (you're just taking the full 4:3 image and the phone chops off the sides and top to make it fit into a 16:9 picture). That's why you might notice that when you start taking video the image seems to zoom a little.

Moved from the Galaxy S forum (for the original S phone) to the S7 forum.
