Android Central Question

Just bought a Galaxy S7. There was a notification that there was a firmware update. I go to download it, and I keep on getting the message that I need to be connected to Wifi first. And I am connected to it. I can download updates to apps. No problem. Just not this particular update. What is the problem?

Try forgetting the network from the phone, clear the cache partition and reboot, then rescan and connect. Good luck

Welcome to Android Central! Does the phone have mobile data on as well? Are you certain the apps aren't updating via mobile data instead of wi-fi?

Try different wi-fi networks as well.

And turn off mobile data until the update finishes. (The only difference between them is that mobile data costs you money [and is usually slower].)
