It seems they went Poly to keep the "active" spirit alive... And I don't have a way of knowing the exact battery size... But it seems to go pound for pound with the regular S8 with my s8+ edging it out... But it didn't come in complete packaging so there's no way to know for sure.... If you know of an app that can pull it point me in the right direction and I'll get back with you .

So you are saying the battery doesn't last as long as the S8 Plus?

Yes... But then again my s8+ is my main phone and debloated and set the best way I know how to preserve battery... I don't even have a Sim card in the active so it's always popping up searching for one and I still have the infinity screen and all bloat on it... So optimized it may very well out last my s8+

Settings, about phone, scroll all the way down.

Any idea on pricing?

Wow. It's actually surprising.... From what I've been told same price as s8+ . But that's not confirmed

So far it's a tank.. it's notably thicker (which explains the huge battery.) It's heavier and the screen isn't the same glass on the other variants it's tougher and being flat makes it a lot more durable. It has all the same cutouts as the S8+ speaker in the same spot as well as mic holes and headphone jack. But I've purpose dropped it no scratches or anything and I've dunked it and no issues. But you can do the same with the original s8 so I guess that's not a surprise.

Crazy thing is I Have TMobile. I'll put my sim card in. It shouldn't be locked. I'll report back.... Ok it is sim locked to AT&T but it should work the same as a AT&T s8 that's been unlocked. Now a days it seems all the phones come with all the necessary bands.

I wonder if it'll be like last year's. No wifi calling and various sms and calling issues. Randomly losing connection etc. That seemed to be a nougat issue that should be solved.

I have the S8 Active... Ask me questions!!! I will be posting additional information on Twitter @Nique0201 & videos on Snapchat @Nique0201.

How did you get the S8 Active? I'm guessing it's for AT&T only?
Does it scratch easily? Does screen have plastic layer on top?
Is the active button still there or is it replaced with Bixby?
Is the Active/Bixby button customizable for shortcuts?
What are the materials made of? (Metal bezels, rubberized plastic back?)
How thick is it compared to regular S8?
How slim are the bezels?
Is the display 100% flat, meaning easier to install screen protector? (None of that 2.5d glass curve?)
Price?
Any underwater camera features? (Previous Galaxy Actives had underwater mode for camera)

1. Connection with Samsung. 2. No it doesn't scratch easily. 3 yes Samsung only. 4. No plastic layer. 5 only bixby button. 6 no customization. 7. Metal frame, bumpers feel like metal polymer mkx that's screwed into the sides. Middle of back feels like last year's. 8 it's about 1.5x thick at the normal s8. 9. The bezzels aren't thin at all. I'll post a pic. 10. Yes screen is completely flat. 11. No underwater mode that I can see, it's the exact same camera software as on my s8+.

You could probably flash the regular S8 TMobile software on it... Last year they had a lot of specific S7 active features like the active button and different features in the camera. They don't this year. So with the right software and it being unlocked maybe you wouldn't have those issues.
