Question about backing up my Samsung S8 with Switch to a Macbook.

When visiting the Smart Switch site, it says the OS has to be 10.15 or higher, but im still on 10.12 (high Sierra).
What can I do to still easily back up my whole s8. Since It's getting old and im afraid of it dying and me losing all thats on it.

I am really grateful for any info that can help me reach my goal.

Get a micro-SD card or a flash drive and backup using smart switch on the phone.
