Any guesses on official battery life specs for the S8 Plus? I know the previous Notes have had some decent life (no Note 7 jokes please) :p. Just wondering what we might be able to expect from the Plus!! Kind of excited :)

My best guess is 4-5 hours of SOT across 18-30 hours of usage, 7 hours SOT for those that burn through it in 12-15 hours.

I haven't used an android phone in a while but my 7 or 7 plus couldn't make it through the day without charging it once before bed.

That's all I ask for, no matter the usage it should make it at least from 5am until at least 11am with super heavy usage. No phone has come close. My phone is off the charger at 5am and by 1 pm I'm at less than 10%. It's not horrible to have to charge it once but I just want a phone with all day battery life.

Wow that's crazy. You must be a super power user!!! Do you carry cables, battery packs or charging cases with you to make it through the day?

I don't even consider myself a power user. I listen to audible but even before that I could never get a phone to last. Just getting on Facebook for a few minutes, internet mostly just browsing.

I know this is not a good comparison, but my Note 7 would last me all day on a single charge (5am to about 9pm). I would say moderate usage, i listen to pod-cast a good part of the day.

I'm going to say, if it comes with a 3,500mAh battery then it might be rated as "Up to 15 hours" Video Play Time. Maybe using a 3G connection and browsing the web you could get "Up to 10 hours". The values I'm getting here is by using the Galaxy S7 as a benchmark and taking into account the larger display but also a more effect processor. :)

I think most people will be happy if the device can last the whole day with 5+ SOT. I do predict the battery life will be lower than the S7 Edge but not too much.

Not only is the 835 processor going to make the battery life significantly better but the Samsungs new display will supposedly drain less battery life as well. Combine those two with a 3,500 battery and a less intrusive grace UX, the battery life should be better than the note7.

Based on my S7 edge, with that large screen, I'll predict 5 hrs SOT to start, decreasing to 3-4 hrs with updates.

I can usually get a day out of my S7E unless some rogue app went on a rampage and did the battery drain after an update. I hope the 835 makes more things like playing music and streaming more fuel efficient so that we can stretch it as long as possible...

At the very least, this is what we are all hoping for. I have high hopes for the 10-nanometer technology of the 835.

I've heard anywhere between 3500 and 4000. Anything less than 3600 is ridiculous on a phone that size but having said that I'm happy with my 6P so probably won't be buying in.

I'm thinking they're going to be cautious with regards to the n7 debacle

I tend to see if the battery lasts my work hours + evening time, typically from 8am till 7pm. S7 Edge cruised along this and I am sure S8+ will do so as well.
