Buying Galaxy S8+

Best buy has sold the unlocked S series since the S6. I've bought both unlocked phones from them.

Did you get any promo's when you bought that phone? Could you pre-order it or did it come out after it released to the carriers?

I've gotten every promo they offered. S6 edge came with a VR. S7 edge came with sd card. I got an S2 gear and a 256 sd with the whole N7 debacle.

the only promo's you would miss would be the carrier or store specific ones.

For Samsung Pay fans out there the unlocked version likely will not come with Samsung Pay and can't be installed without flashing the ROM.
I went through that with my unlocked S6. Get a big 4 carrier branded if Samsung Pay matters to you.

Really? That must be an american thing. Over here Samsung Pay works just fine on unlocked versions.
That's weird why would they restrict it like that?

Yes definitely an American thing on unlocked Samsung phones unless it was bought from the big 4 carriers here in the US.
Flashing the ROM to another country specs is something I don't care to do with a brand new $900 dollar phone.

No. They were a few months behind. I bought the regular versions of each phone first through pre order. I'm a phone junky who swaps phones every new release.

Thats great. Im hoping. I was looking on Verizons website it almost seems like they will have the pre order tonight at midnight... i didnt think it was supposed to release until the end of April.

That's how it went with the note 7, so we'll see. I'm with sprint and ended up preordering the note 7 the morning after it was announced.

Unlocked versions will be available at Best Buy in May. Not on launch day. They wait to release.
