In most speed tests, the S7 held its own with just about every other phone released in 2016, including the almighty iPhone 7. I would expect this year to be no different.

it may be fast out the box but how will it hold its own after long term use
to me every samsung phone i have had had to be rooted with custom roms installed to get the best use of the hardware
software on their phones seems to be the weak point.
I've used a sock s7 edge recently and it was laggy

Wanted to see it against OnePlus 3T or maybe Mate 9 tho. Those phones are the fastest Android by measuring app-opening times and RAM management.

Faster than the S6, slower than the S9. The 835 seems to be smaller update than usual on speed, but it still is faster than the 820/821.
