I posted this on the S8 forum, but maybe its better here.
The 8+ has the larger battery, but how much will it be negated by the larger screen eating it up? In the end, will it have battery battery life, or will they likely be similar?

Nobody can tell until the phones are out there in the wild.
I have ordered both so will be able to tell when I get them.
Nope, it won't. The battery in the S8 is just too small to catch up to the S8+ with only a 0.4in difference in screen size.
You can't tell just by battery add screen sizes. I have s s7 and a S7E and the batteries last about the same when I use them the same way. Not scientific but real world usage.

Well perhaps you've gotten lucky. All evidence points to the S7 edge lasting longer than the S7. Samsung's own tests show the S8+ lasting longer and their tests showed the same for the last generation. Most of the time you can tell by battery and screen size, especially when everything else is equal like with these devices. We're not talking about different manufacturers.
