S8 is only 152g, this is lighter than the S7 Edge!

The S8+ on the other hand, while of course is larger, but not by much, is a massive 21g extra heavy at 173g.

Now I am not a rocket scientist, but does an extra 500mAh of battery and some minor screen real estate really add up to 21g?

Maybe I am missing something here, but really? After giving this consideration wouldn't it be of extra benefit to choose the S8 over the S8+. Here's a thought, the S8+ feels heavy, imagine dropping it on the ground.

The s8+ seems to be right in line with other phones in the same size range. Except the S8+ has a much bigger display screen....

Dang!!!! I didn't know the S8+ is 173g. I am going to have to increase my dumbbell curls to 70lbs from 65lbs to handle this monster. Good thing Samsung didn't add an 4000mAh battery, I don't think my duty belt could take the extra weight.

Perhaps I would notice the size/weight difference, as most of my phones have been lighter and smaller by comparison; but I'm sure seasoned phablet users won't be fazed by this.

The weight of the phone didn't bother me. I didn't even notice because I was paying attention to that awesome screen. I have the iPhone 7 plus which felt heavier to me.

The S8 is smaller than the S7 Edge, so I'd be surprised if this were otherwise.

In case you didn't get the memo, the different aspect ratios mean that you can't use the screen diagonal as a proxy for device size when comparing.

Have you handled one? It feels a bit light for its size to me.

In fact the S8+ is about 17% larger in volume and 11% larger in mass, so is overall less dense than the S8.
