    My son dropped and cracked his S8. No luck with trying a claim with Verizons asurion. They don't carry the S8. Anyone else have to get a display or replacement device yet?

    That's odd. If you have insurance, don't they have to offer a replacement?

    This is why I put a case and glass on mine before ever using. It's going to be an expensive repair. Best contact Samsung.

    What does, "in home screen replacement" mean? Does Asurion send a tech person to your house and they replace your screen on the spot? Just curious...

    You could play that pretty easy. Sign up and get the free month and use a virtual credit card with a small limit. After the 1st month is up screw it. You at least get a month of it and if something happens well keep it awhile lol.

    When you say no luck! Do you mean you have insurance with asurion and there refusing because it's a new model phone?

    Reading this thread prompted me to rush online and get phone insurance. I should have done it already after my s7 edge cracked so easily last year.

    A case alone may not save the glass, a tempered glass would thought. These phones are too expensive to be used naked. With or without insurance.

    Asurion certainly will carry them, I would give it another week or two. It is normal for them to not have access to a brand new device.

    Update: as of today asurion said the S8 in black will be on backorder for 3 to 7 days now. Kinda disappointed to be paying insurance to have to wait so long.
