IR blaster alternative

I know there are threads about galaxy S8 not having an IR port and IR is a dying breed anyway. However, does anyone know if there is any headphone jack that acts like an IR blaster (mostly available for iphones) that is compatible with the S8? I still want an IR feature on my S8 if possible.

Open Samsung Connect and try that out. I have a Samsung TV and it works great... well all buttons still work great on the peel app as an example other than the power button which I am hoping the developer will fix/update in due time.

Do you absolutely need it to be on the phone with you all the time? Like do you use it for travel or whatever?

If not, you can also use the Logitech Harmony Hub that you put by your devices and you can use the phone as the remote.
