YT Can`t watch videos at 2K resolution

Hey!
I`m wondering why I can`t watch youtube videos at 2K resolution. I have set phone resolution to 2K, and I still can`t choose to watch at 2k resolution. I can only watch at 1080p.

I think that's an issue with some sort of Google certification not reporting the phone as 2K-capable (or 4k on some). At launch on some Note 4s and 5s you couldn't go up to 1080p and YT topped at 720p.

Watching on full-res shouldn't be an issue on the web player, though.

Well, your phone is certainly capable of watching videos in UHD resolution. It's one of the highest resolution devices at the moment.

Maybe that specific YouTube video was not made in 2K?. Try searching for 4K videos just to make sure. Maybe it's something Google needs to change on their side.

I can watch 1440P videos but no 4K...
