Ordered a 3 pack of USB cable cables from amazon. Two of the 3 say pop up a notification of an incomplete connection when plugged in. They still charge I guess. I'm using these in vehicles, so it's a variety of charging sources. The factory cable that came with the phone gives no such wanting, neither does the USB cable adaptor that came with my phone. My question is, is it still OK to use these cables? What exactly does it mean?

    Only get reputable cables.

Not the deal of the day. Yootech, anker or even stallion are good cables. Never had a problem using them no matter the size.

    Those will work ok.

Curious, which cables gave you issues? Just so you can warn others...

CellBee 3 Pack USB C Cable (USB A To USB Type C) Fast Data Transfer and Charging (3 ft/1 m) for USB-C Devices Including the new MacBook, ChromeBook Pixel, Nexus 5X/6P, Google Pixel/Pixel XL and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NBQS41J...cUvbUpU5793902

These are the ones I bought, and 2 of the 3 show incomplete connection junk haha. The only bummer is I need about 6 or so cables, so if I have to buy 6 $15 dollar cables, well...

If you ever buy something from Amazon that is defective on delivery, use their a-Z guaranty to get a refund.

On the Note 8, I ran into said error message when using a lower-end battery bank https://forums.androidcentral.com/e?...token=-oS7izkm The problem went away with the OEM charger or a better battery bank https://forums.androidcentral.com/e?...token=IYTycYX1 These cables worked just fine with the OEM charger or better battery bank, and are significantly cheaper https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073Y7VXLM...cUvbUpU6079666

I go the other way. Splurge. Using the MacBook Apple USB charger and 2m USBC - USBC cable supports fast charging.

    Coupled with 29w charger.

I don't expect anyone else to but throwing out there. Long time Mac owner dabbled in Vista thru W10 but returned to the MacBook 2015. And ipad for reading. (Every two yrs buying an iphone to see what there up to ; <

I know this is old thread, but I am running into this problem too. It was intermittent for a few months, but now it is constant. I can't figure out if its the port, the cable or the wall adapter. I can use an old-style cable (not C) with a USB-C adapter and get slow charging fine. So I think that eliminates a bad port, but am not sure.

Went to a friends house and her Samsung cable (S9) worked fine on my phone (S8). (fine=fast charging). So I was about to purchase new cable (Samsung $16-2pack). But wondered if I should get adapter too ($10)? Or maybe I should just get a wireless charger in case my problem is the port (I've read they can be tempermental). Then I'm covered to at least get not-so-fast-but-not-so-slow wireless charging and I get a new wall charger/adapter in the mix to try as well (but cost is $37)

I've never seen problems with reputable Type C connectors on cables (of course, I've never used $2 cables either), but if you purchase a good quality cable (and the fact that it's Samsung doesn't guarantee that - Anker (on Amazon) makes quality cables.

Does the Type C port go bad? Not unless you're pretty rough with it or you use a really bad connector.

Wireless charging? My only problem with that is even with a stand-up charging stand, the charger throws some heat into the phone (and heat is an enemy of electronics).

Thanks for the info. THe Anker cables look good, but so many to choose from ( the good and bad of Amazon!) Is USB 3.0 needed for fast charging? The original wall adapter says "fast charging" on it. Does that imply USB 3.0? Should I consider getting a new wall adapter?
