Yesterday I was charging my S8+ with a Samsung Micro Usb cord with UsbC adapter, Samsung wall end. Changed fine but got hot. Temp according to the app went to 104.5°. It's been fine since but that raises a little concern.

which app would this be? if its not samsungs own, I would suspect the readings are not calibrated.

Anyways.. 104 is not a red zone, hell thats 5 degrees above body temp.

104? That's it? Lol. My old V10 regularly got up to 120 to 125. And that was without charging. Just typical use

My S8+ got kinda warm while charging in the car yesterday, I suspect it was a combination of charging and being exposed to some sunlight tho. (this was the 1st time i remember it being that warm tho).

Cheers,
BR

It's using the old version of quick charge, and the old version does got hot from what I remember. If you're concerned, turn off quick charge and just leave it charging overnight.

I never actually checked the temp, but my V10 would get quite warm daily. I've never felt my S8 ever getting even a touch warm. I do have GSAM battery monitor on my S8 and looked back through the history and my S8 battery has never gotten above 95.

I've personally never run the Cpu-z App to test the temperature but apps are not always accurate and i wouldn't rely on them. They more for round about readings. A better indication of whether you phone is too hot is simply to hold it. If it feels hot, then stop charging and try to cool it down. Maybe there was a rouge App using a lot of CPU time that made it a little hotter than normal. :)

I wouldn't worry to much about it unless its happening on a regular basis. If you are using all the official charging cables and adapters then everything should be fine.

I'm pretty sure the phone is smart enough to scale back the charge rate if it was to get too hot. I think that's gotta be part of the "adaptive" charge.

My S7 Edge routinely got to 117 degrees when running navigation and playing music. That's why I'm so glad I'm not using it anymore.

What you don't know can't hurt you. LOL

I used to look into stats like this back in the day.

I'm sure companies have put them through torture test.

My S7 overheated and quit charging two days ago, it was in direct sunlight in my car.
