To be clear: I turn on the always-on display, and it works fine for a while, then eventually I notice that it's no longer coming on when I lock the phone, check the settings, and it's been set 'off'. I manually set it on again, it works for a while, and the cycle continues. It's hard to pinpoint a moment at which this happens, or any pattern, but I want to reiterate that in this case a system setting is being modified, which is potentially distinct from a crash or other display issue with always-on.
