I've had my S8 for a while now, and while the headphone audio isn't bad I decided to try my AudioQuest Dragonfly Black v1.5 to see how it sounds. Does it sound better than audio from the headphone jack? Yes, it certainly does. I'm using Power Amp Alpha version for playback of FLAC files and I did have to up the preamp volume within the app to get enough volume for my Sony MDR-7506s. I also had to select the Dragonfly as USB output device in settings. Once I was done, it was just sit back and enjoy. Yes, the Dragonfly Black costs about $100, but worth every penny. No cables come with it; you have to buy the separate Dragontail cable and also I had to put a usb-c adapter on the end. Anyway, if you've read this far, you might enjoy this tongue-in-cheek article describing the capabilities of the Dragonfly. You can also use it with your laptop.
