Verizon Galaxy S8 Fingerprint scanner help

Is there ANY way to disable the ability of the fingerprint scanner to go to the home screen EVERY time i accidently hit it? It's very annoying while playing games and having to hold close to it and inevitably swiping it on accident and going to the home screen.Thanks

Finger sensor gestures are off already. And still if I hit the fingerprint scanner, I go back to the home screen

I don't think so. I believe the way its set up is the way it is. I am pretty sure.

Maybe I'm confused about your question. Touching my FPS does nothing unless I'm trying to unlock phone, sign into a website or use Samsung Pay.

I'll have a poke around in settings. Mine doesn't do that...
Settings... Advanced features... Finger sensor.... Toggle that off.

Same here, regardless of whether I enable Fingerprint Gestures. I've never heard of an S8 doing what OP describes.

Galaxy customer service says it's because I have my phone set to unlock with the fps but that doesn't make sense if the phone is unlocking while it's already unlocked. And this just started a few days ago. And yes I've got rid of every app I've put on since then and before a few days. Also wiped the partition
