Did you come to an S8 or S8+ from a Moto phone?

If so, what do you miss about the Moto phone?

What do you like about the S8 over the Moto? Dislike?

What model Moto did you come from?

    Any regrets?

I came from a G5 Plus. The only thing I miss is the stripped down interface free of add ons. I like my S8 but am not a big fan of their interface. Moto's security update policy sucks. So far my unlocked S8 has been getting the monthly patches about a month after release. Not too bad as far as I'm concerned.

I grew to dispise moto. it was ok for 6 months. it got to where I had less than 3 hours of battery life. mxpe
I'll never buy another moto or Lenovo phone.
I purchased the s8+ though I was hoping see the note 8 and new pixel xl 2. but I couldn't stand it.
I'm not a fan of the edge gimmick. I'm not sure I like the narrow aspect ratio.
battery life is good. it was great but I guess I've got too much stuff running. it charges faster.
I'd had the first three notes, skipped the 4 hoping for a bigger improvement, then the note 5 was without SD CARD and removable battery... that removable battery seems to be the norm now. so I'll plan a warranty replacement after a year or so

I came from the Moto Z Play. I actually miss it now. I'll probably end up going back to it or getting the Z2 Play.

I came from the Moto X generation. Only one thing I truly miss, the active display.
Sure the S8 has always on display but doesn't come close to Moto. I believe it's a patient owned by Moto. That is why Sammy can never match it, nor can any wanna be apps duplicate Moto active display

I came from a Moto Z Force. Now using a S8. The only thing I miss is the "twist to capture" on the camera. .
Battery life is about the same. Camera is much better in low light with the S8.
I still have my Force for a backup phone and still play around with it. After using the S8 for a month the Force seems huge! I really like the compact size of the S8. (With just as big of a display)
I'm glad I made the switch so far.

I'm coming from a Moto X Pure (2015 model). The touchscreen stopped working (out of warranty) in a really bad way, so I bought the S8+. I would not buy another Moto because of the issues with the touchscreen.

Screen issues set aside, the Moto was a decent phone, I liked the interface better and was about half the price of the S8+, but updates were few and far between and was still waiting for the promised Nougat update that never arrived. Had the Moto not died on me, I would have waited for the Pixel 2, but went with the S8+ because it had the fastest processor and I'm happy with my choice.

I like my S8+with its nicer display, better battery life, slightly larger display, like the 18:9 aspect ratio, the list goes on....

The S8+ seems more fragile than the Moto. It a nice looking phone that unfortunately have to keep covered up with a substantial case to protect it.

I hate Bixby and wish the Bixby button was not there because I always seen to press it accidentally while pulling the phone out of my pocket.

I also have a few pet peeves that hopefully can be fixed with a software updates. E.g. can't tun off Google Navigation Voice over Bluetooth, screen turning on in my pocket when making/receiving calls over Bluetooth, screen randomly turning on in my pocket for other reasons.

I've just ordered my S8 Plus from Hong Kong so waiting for it too arrive, although I know it won't come with Google play installed so hope I manage to install that OK and that of course it works with my network provider. Anyway currently I have a Nexus 6 which is made by Motorola. A fantastic phone in my opinion. Had it since Late 2014, obviously I get all the latest Android updates, which I will miss and is a sturdy, well built phone. The only reason I'm replacing it is the battery just won't last more than a couple of hours now.

If the Samsung lives up to all the hype then I'll be happy.
