I have had my S8 since August and my desktop shows through when I am using anythingcwith a white background. I can actually seed my apps while typing this.

Is there anything I can do to remove it or is it permanent? Would it be covered by the warranty. I do have the always on screen turned off and have donee since buying the phone.

I have uploaded a screen shot which you can see it on as well.

    Welcome to Android Central.

I can answer your question. It is fully covered under warranty. Had to send mine in for the exact issue. It was actually an internal part and not the screen. Part was replaced and returned to me at no cost. Not had the same issue since.

As far as I know it doesn't. I could not tell that they had even done a repair to the phone.

I wish I still had the screenshot of my screen burn in, you could see it clear as day. Because it was not the screen that was the problem. My screen burn in was cause by an internal part so I was able to clearly capture it. I was told by the reps at the Samsung Store that the burn in was not always the screen but was actually an internal part that was causing the screen retention. Now whether they were misinforming me I can not say.

Then that means whatever you are seeing isn't screen burn. Screen burn came from back when we still used CRT screens where the phosphor was literally burnt out of the screen. This also applies to OLED because basically each pixel is a light bulb and when the light bulb is burnt out, it dims, causing irreversible ghosting.
