Why wont my Galaxy S8 play H.264 Mp4 video?

Ive made a video in after effects. Mp4 H264 codec. AAC audio. File size is 266mb. It wont play on my galaxy S8 it says video codec not supported..... it wont even show a thumbnailn but it does play the audio only. i thought that codec was specifically the codec that IS supported. Someone help.

Saying your video clip was rendered in Mp4 is like saying your tennis racket is made out of "metal." How you set up many different rendering settings within the huge basket of options that falls under the Mp4 spec can have a big effect.

That said, have you tried using a third party player like MX Player, or are you only using the included player app that shipped with the phone (the included Samsung app has relatively limited codec support compared to other options available.)
