Why the Samsung S8 is not fast charging?

Because some smart person decided not to put a cover over the charging port. Clean the dust and lint from the charging port.

Well, that’s one possible cause perhaps, though I’ve never had the problem myself, and I think that most charge failures in devices in general are not because of that.

This is a shot in the dark so take it for what it's worth.

I believe the Samsung + app (if you have it installed), in the diagnostics section where it gives you an overall performance rating, if you click on that, it should list many things that it watches and one of them is the phone/charger connection. Maybe looking into that might offer you some insight?

The problem could be:

• bad charger
• bad charging cable
• loose cable connection to charger and/or phone
• Fast Charging setting not set

I would try to charge with a known good charger and cable, then troubleshoot from there.
