Okay, so between Puffin Browser and chrome, what's everyone's personal preference? Which uses less RAM and battery? Thank you.

    Why not firefox?

    Or samsung's own browser?

    Both excellent. đź‘Ť

Recent convert to Samsung browser. Use of fingerprint to sign into sites and ability to add extensions make it a win for me.

I initially used Google Chrome but it impacted negatively on my battery life.
Something like media server kept showing up using lots and from ironically a Google Search it confirmed Chome could be the culprit so I uninstalled and it went away.
Ive been through a few browsers and most are just a skin so I ended up using the Stock Samsung Internet Option and battery life has been stable and like the way things just integrate with it.

I've been a Chrome User app my life, one day I was just bored and decided to use the Samsung browser and I found a few really REALLY good options (like true full screen, fingerprint password login, ad block) I've never went back to chrome. Matter of fact I uninstalled chrome altogether

(Samsung internet is runs so much smoother as well, very odd)

I tried using Samsungs browser but kept running into sites where the web video player was just blank and did not show.
Moved over to Chrome and the video player shows up and works properly.

Samsung browser is nice with great features, but if you use Chrome on your computer, then Chrome is more convenient. The Samsung browser can sync with the Chrome bookmarks. But Chrome not only syncs in real time (because it uses your Google account) across devices, it also does autofill. It remembers your searches, user names, passwords, and credit card information across devices if you have that enabled. So you don't have to enter that information twice.

I agree with you. I went back to Chrome because I am invest in Google's ecosystem obviously and it just works better but I didn't agree with what you're talking about. I also increase the screen display with to about 600 DPI so that I have desktop tabbing in my Chrome browser.

I have always used Samsung's default browser and love it , i decided to go on the Google chrome browser a short while back and found that many videos (not all) did not load or were very slow while using 4G+ and ultra high speed internet via wifi , after going back to Samsung's browser i had none of these problems viewing the same content. Samsung's is just a lot more user friendly in my opinion but each to their own .

I love the Samsung Browser. But there's two issues with it that make me go back to Chrome. First their Chrome extension that is supposed to sync bookmarks does not work. I have to manually replace them all once in a while to keep them updated. When I save a bookmark on my PC to open it up on my phone and can't find it, it's pretty frustrating. Google's bookmark sync is reliable and fast (as in seconds).

Second, it loads most websites with a slight zoom which creates an horizontal scrollbar. The last one is not the end of the world but it can be annoying sometimes.

One of the things that I've noticed the most with all of these browsers, is the fact that chrome for wine reason uses the least amount of ram. I missed all the top browsers and even Samsung internet uses in average 120 mb of ram Chrome on average is like 70 make of ram. It's weird but wow.

Used Chrome for long –fast & fluid– but, as it became less good for desktop, I sought other options; Samsung’s is quite good, but I’ve found Firefox decent for Android, excellent for desktop, and very synchronizable.

Maybe it's just me but Firefox for Android uses 200 mb of ram easily. I'm in short we have 4 gigs of RAM on the phone but still it's a Memory hog.

I realize I'm a little late to this party. However after using Chrome exclusively for many years, I was bored and decided to check out Samsung Internet Browser since it was pre-installed on my phone anyways. Then I did some research. After that, I got the Samsung Internet beta app coupled with Adblock Fast. I'll admit it was challenging to move my passwords from Google, but I figured it out. The difference in resources, internet speed, and not getting bombarded with ads is what sold me on the Samsung browser. I have since disabled Chrome. My phone has never operated better! IMHO Samsung takes the cake for mobile browsing.

In 2019 I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 5e tablet and it came with the Samsung Internet Browser installed, naturally..... Sammy browser just performs best for me. I did switch to the Beta version of Samsung browser. Pretty simple choice for myself....yet for others...to each his/her own.
