Why do Samsung's Galaxy S8s have a problem sending photo & video clearly?

My pics look great, but when I send them via text, they are indecipherable. When I send them to my daughter who has the same phone bought at the same time, it's the same problem. I do not use third party apps, nor do I feel I should have to. There's, obviously, a compression issue. Please explain in steps how I can send a clear pic and clear video to any phone without downloading another app, like Textra.

Texting through messages app will always never be clear. You are sending it through your carrier, not Wi-Fi.
