AT&T Galaxy S8 Phone #'s no longer a active link since Oreo

Since Oreo phone #'s are no longer a active link in my emails. I can highlight the phone # and "phone" option shows up but before all I had to do was touch the number and it activated phone dialer. I have looked through the settings for hours and can't find anything. Numbers via Gmail desktop are fine.................just on my S8+ no worky

The hot link feature was probably removed because it kept doing it to many non phone numbers and people were super annoyed when what appeared to be a hotlink was instead dialing bogus numbers. Instead google will still parse what it thinks is a phone number but you need to hold above the number to get the action windows with "Dial".

Just strange it was implemented with the Oreo update and not a Gmail update. To me its a much needed feature that I now need to use a 3rd party email app. I should have the option to turn on/off hot links and not have Google choose for me
