And before I do a factory reset, I just want to make sure I have exhausted all options.
These pop-ups in the middle of virtually anything/everything I do on my phone, fill up the whole screen and have a x in the upper right hand corner.

I have already tried figuring out what app is the culprit but to no avail. I have also run a couple of anti-virus apps and malwarebytes, but no luck.

    Anyone have any advice/recommendations?

Experienced exhausted options mimics the exact behavior.. random pop-ups differnt size. full screen and the variable besides creating temp files is it launches default browser to specific page. There isn't any apparent trigger i could find? did Verizon and Samsung troubleshooting over the phone. ran Verizon security Samsung and malware bytes premium. Nothing works and the last resort i am using is in store to Samsung walk in experience as provided guidance per best buys geek squad where Samsung told me to go with the provided reference number... Best buy said otherwise (note i purchased at best buy) if this helps great. i can at minimum relate and also desire the same assistance

I've read several recent reports about different backup apps pushing similar ads, especially after placing or receiving a call. Do you have such an app installed in your phone?

it could be a lot of different apps, especially free camera and photo editing apps. voice recording apps, flash light apps. delete some of the apps you've downloaded since it's started

Yeah work backwards from the apps you've downloaded lately. I had the same issue and was just about do a hard reset when I finally found the culprit. Still not sure exactly which one it was but I narrowed it down to a theming app or Peel Remote app. Also check your Google Ads settings as you may be letting them unknowingly. You need to opt out of their ads or they'll just bombard you.

Hi. I just had this exact thing happen to me today. The simplest thing to do is call (not chat) the tech coach, the Verizon app everyone should have on their phone. I was freaking out, thinking I would have to do a factory reset and uninstall all my apps as the phone was unusable for anything other than calls. When I called Tech Coach, the rep who assisted me was able to remotely access my phone and run a diagnostic on it. Well, it turns out that I did have a virus that one of the apps I had recently installed had harboured. The tricky thing is that although the tech coach who assisted me ran her own malware detector scan on my phone, as I did with my own security app, neither one detected the virus. This particular virus used yet another download I had installed to multiply and duplicate itself, creating fake apps that somehow caused all the pop ups. It was similar to the infamous Star Trek The Trouble with Tribbles episode. In fact, the very app I installed to uninstall the other fake apps was the very one causing most of the trouble. Hm. Coincidence?? I doubt it.

hello. Sorry for your experience hope you got it fixed. I had the same problem a while back when I was installing apps from off the web( such as cracked YouTube red apk, Pandora premium apk, modded games, etc).

One of the apps had become a device administrator although in settings when looking at the administrators it showed up as blank. I removed it and then the ads quit and had no more problems.

    Hope this helps.
