Samsung 8 forgot pattern log in

I waa given Samsung 8 i set it all up and worked fine but now I forgotten pattern. it is saying mt r phone was restarted and needs to be unlocked using pattern n I can use my biomethics next time. Can anyone help me? }I tried pressing home button power n volume same time ..thank

Do you have a Samsung account linked? If so, log in to account.samsung.com in the browser on your computer, locate the "find my mobile" app in the list, then select to reset the unlock info on your device. You should receive a dialog similar to the attached image (this is from my Tab S3), once you click the button to continue you should be able to re-do your security on your phone.
