Hey guys, I'm been experimenting with battery optimization and software optimization and to me it feels like my Galaxy S8 is faster when the stock default theme is set. Anyone else notice anything like this?

(I said "feels" I don't have proof that this is happening it could be all in my head but idk feels a little bit different)

I've tried a lot of different themes and even custom themes made with a app called Theme Galaxy from the app store

(I'm not talking Nova Launcher or anything of the sort I'm talking about when you log press the homescreen and it says themes)

It does "seem" like it's smoother w/the default theme but I have no proof either.

    I stick w/stock on my S8+

That's different icons for the shortcuts and different wallpaper. Since the phone has to have some wallpaper (even though some people with AMOLED screens know how they work and choose a solid black wallpaper) and the shortcuts have to have icons, and neither is active, about the only way of slowing the phone down is icons with a lot of individual pixels (no area of color larger than a pixel or two) - that takes time to draw, or an active wallpaper - that does use CPU time. (But once you tap an icon, the active wallpaper should stop, so it won't affect time. It does affect battery when it's running.)

I haven't been myself today so I'm not sure if my eyes are not reading what you're saying right or not

What I think you're saying is that non-moving wallpapers (static?) don't use battery or CPU time as much as a moving wallpaper (live or Samsung particle floaty wallpaper)

ok that's understandable, but my phone is in my opinion running smoother with the Default Theme (which uses the floaty particle wallpaper that reacts to motion and swipes) than a theme with a static wallpaper which makes zero sense to me
