Use a USB Flashdrive

I have a Samsung Galaxy S8, model number SM-G950F on Virgin Mobile. To make more room, I have moved some movies to a USB Flashdrive by using a PC. I still want to watch these movies on my mobile but even using an OTG cable, I cannot seem to find them.

Please help

are you using a file explorer?

If you put the flash drive back in a PC, any PC, can you verify that the movie files actually ARE ON IT?

And is the software you are using on the phone able to view movie files from external media? I would expect some do not support OTG at all, even if the phone fully does.

Two separate issues to explore.
