S8 latest software update issue- Home screen unlock pattern not recognized anymore?

[Android Central Question]

I installed the latest update last night and now my phone will not unlock using my pattern that I always use for the secure privacy the last 2 years. Prior to this up date, when I draw out my pattern the lines were continuous through each dot as it followed my finger. Now after this update last night the lines do not connect continuously through each dot. As soon as I touch the first dot and move to the next one, the line breaks and the phone message pops up that I have to retry in 30 seconds and a countdown starts up. It simply won't recognize the same pattern i have used for 2 years anymore. Help!

I do not know what to do to gain access to my phone. Is there a fix for this and how do I gain access to my phone as it is needed for my business and personal use?

The issue with the line not staying visible is also on my Verizon S8, but continuing the existing pattern does unlock my phone.
