Is the Galaxy S9+ too big?

I popped in a Samsung shop the other day to pre order, and couldn't decide which size I preferred, and was stood, holding one of each for 20 mins, debating, and throwing the pros and cons round in my mind, until one of the shop workers showed me their S9+ in its case, and it was huge. I didn't consider the case adding size to it, and it made my decision for me. The S9 feels very comfortable for one handed use, too, so I swerved the plus, and stuck with the S9. I honestly can't see the extras in the plus making a big difference, or making me able to accept the phone bulging out my jeans pocket

Bingo. Plus you were probably looking at the S8 and S8+. The S9 and S9+ are marginally but noticeably larger in the hand than their predecessors.

Oh no, it was definitely the S9 and S9+ I was looking at, it was at the Manchester (UK) Samsung store. They had units to play with ready for pre-order. I ordered the S9 in coral blue.

I chose the s7 over the s7 edge after relinquishing my note 7. I thoroughly enjoy the small form factor because I can sit without it jamming on my front hip in my front pocket. The difference then was there was no real feature difference. Now I have to choose between the small form factor OR other features such as telephoto and more ram.

The 'small' S9 is a about as big as an S7 Edge.

Advantage of S9/S9+ done S8

I was on the mall yesterday and found out the new release Samsung Galaxy.
The employees of the said store is so busy entertaining customers that's why I never had a chance to ask the advantages and difference of S9/S9+ and 8.

Planning to buy but want to be knowledgeable enough about the unit. Thank you.

Basically better performing camera and processor, and better FPS placement. The bigger S9+ has dual lens and 6GB of RAM like the Note 8.

If you already have the S8, don't worry too much.

Very slight improvements in these areas:

Battery life
Speed and smoothness
Screen
Speakers
Camera
Biometrics (intelligent scan)
Fingerprint sensor position
Signal with T-Mobile
One hand usability

I don’t think it’s too big. It’s slightly smaller in width than the iPhone 8+, and roughly the same height.

I think 6.2" is a bit big - well, too big, in my opinion - but I'd suggest, if you are concerned, to hold off on pre-ordering and test it out in the store to see if the size is to your liking. 😊

They are actually slightly smaller.

No they're not. Here's how the phones rank in terms of overall volume (cubic millimeters):

NOTE8 - 104533
S9 PLUS - 99176.13
S8 PLUS - 94829.13
S9 - 86249.415
S8 - 81120.72

Some reviewers have also already commented that they notice the increased size of the S9 and S9 plus in the hand. And I felt them myself two days ago.

S8 5.86 x 2.68 x .31
S9 5.81 x 2.7 x .33

S8+ 6.28 x 2.89 x .32
S9+ 6.22 x 2.91 x .33

So the 9+ is .06” shorter, but .02” wider, and .01” thicker? Those differences are so small. The biggest difference of course being that it’s .06” shorter.

Actually, the biggest difference in your hand will be the width and thickness. But even when you factor in the height difference, the S9 and S9 Plus still come out noticeably larger. Volume takes all these measurements into account.
