I think you and I have quite similar "OCD" tendencies hehe. I feel exactly like you with this. Personally, I sort of treat my phone like my wallet. So I'm careful where I leave it etc.
Overall, there's no doubt that not having any lock security is more convenient in pretty much all circumstances. For those saying that fingerprint unlocking goes straight to the home screen, there's an option to make it so that pressing the home button goes straight to the home screen too (bypassing the lock screen).
As you've already described, there are instances where the phone is lying on its back on eg. a desk, and sometimes it can be inconvenient to pick up the phone to fingerprint unlock it, when you could just press the home button while the phone is lying on its back. First-world problems!
