I'm trying to decide whether or not I want to replace my S9 on warranty because of its microphone problem. Its problem is that my microphone records things muffled, and things recorded sound like something recorded by a real cheap TracFone. Funny thing is it was doing this last night, then worked fine this morning, and is now doing it again. Quite a few other people have had this issue, I believe. What should I do?

I suppose you've already tried this, BUT reboot the device. Also lightly blow on the microphone hole OR insert a small toothpick and try to remove any dust that may have settled in there. Being very careful with the toothpick not to harm anything inside.

tried a reboot and a clean of the mic. nothing. I should probably try a factory reset but I hate that so much. takes very long to restore data, etc. does any one else have thoughts? I just think it's so peculiar that some people have this issue but most seem to not, and samsung hasnt even acknowledged it...

I think before you warranty, Samsung will make you try a factory reset, most companies do. So why not?

I have this problem too and it is super annoying. I am also not quite sure what to do as it is intermittent.

I feel like Samsung should be contacted but they're such a big company (not to mention overseas) that the complaint might not make it further than the live chat rep. @robber, you could try this if you wanted.
