Anyone else on this app that still hasn't gotten the latest update? I tried sideloading with an apk from apk mirror but it didn't work quite right. So I uninstalled and reinstalled. Still on the older version, no material design.

After installing the new version. You have to wait at least one day. And Google will do the rest. Don't uninstall it. Just wait. You will get the dark mode.

And soon after posting, I received. Works just fine.

Someone else noted that with the new interface, you can no longer change the color of the contact icon within a group chat. It used to be possible under People & Options.
