When you add an event, check where it is being saved. If it's not being saved to the same cloud account synced to your husband's phone (either Google or Samsung or another calendar type), the events you create are being saved only locally and not synced across devices.

You need to both be signed in to the same Google account.

Welcome to Android Central! He also needs to make sure the Sharing settings for his calendar give you the ability to Make Changes to Events. Tell him to go to the Google Calendar website on his computer browser, then click the 3 vertical dot button next to his calendar that he share with you. Select Settings & Sharing, then look at the Share With Specific People section. Make sure you're set to Make Changes To Events (not just See All Event Details).

The Google Calendar website is at Google Calendar. Each of you has to have the other one's calendar shared on yours.
