All photos taken by me disappeared - videos and all other image files remain...

...I still see all my videos and every other image category still on my phone. This includes whatssap images/videos, screenshots, downloads, Instagram, etc.

I only use internal storage and don't have any cloud back ups.

This just happened as I was on a flight. I woke up and found my images wiped.

I'm panicking a bit - I had 100's of photos here which are irreplaceable.

Help!

Welcome to Android Central! So you don't have an SD card inserted at all? Use a file manager app to look directly in the /DCIM/Camera directory. Do you see the photo files there?
