S9+ trying to register phone when trying to search for updates

I did a factory reset on my s9+ yesterday, and after that when i try to search for updates it tries to register my phone, but it fails everytime or just keeps trying forever. I tried connecting it to Kies but it won't recognize it. Idk what happened. It just won't let me check for any updates. It's an unlocked s9+ running on android 9.

Kies only works on older devices, try Smart Switch, its replacement

Welcome to Android Central! Is there a reason why you did the factory reset? Was the phone malfunctioning in some way?

Also, did you get the phone directly from your carrier, or did you buy it somewhere else and bring it to that carrier?

If a update is available , you can update through smart switch.
Go into recovery and clear cache, by holding the bixby button,power,volume up same time and then try again .

Was it done via Settings or Recovery mode?
