S9 Storage fluctuating Google Play Services

Hello and thanks in advance. Last night I noticed my phone had less than 500 MB of space left, when I knew I should be around 30(ish)GB. I went through every avenue of monitoring storage on my device and discovered Google Play Services was holding up 34GB of space. Without deleting all of my game history I couldn't clear it. As of now, 12 hours later, it's is all gone and now only holds 2.4GB. How can I prevent this? Is this normal? PLEASE HELP

As Play Services works, it's using, then releasing, storage. There's not much you can do about that. It's how Play Services works. (It's how a lot of apps work.)

And if you use the home button instead of the back button when you're finished using an app, you make it worse, because the app can't give back that space. (Home just runs the launcher, it doesn't close the app. Closing the app lets it give back the space it was holding.)
