S9 Delete "Other" Storage
Hey all!
How can I get rid of the "Other" storage? When I do Files>Analyze Storage, it shows 95% of my storage is used with:
589 MB Images
181 MB Videos
0 MB Installation Files
4.97 MB Audio Files
1.79 MB Documents
60.06 GB Other
I have about 40 apps - the vast majority are already installed (and permanently so, ex. Chrome). What is "Other", and how can I reduce its storage? Thank you so much :))
Re: S9 Delete "Other" Storage
Welcome to Android Central! Try DiskUsage to see what's taking up your storage.
Just curious, do you use Kik Messenger? If so, that can build up a gigantic cache.

@B. Diddy
Hi, I don't use Kik. I chose to install only 18 apps - Facebook Lite, OneDrive, Google Translate, Samsung Calculator... really the bare essentials. I'd like to get rid of Chrome and Internet since I use Ecosia instead, but Samsung has lots of permanent apps that can't be disabled. I've already used Google Files and transferred all images to SD card.
There's still 59GB of other however. I will look into DiskUsage!

Did you ever figure this out??
Re: S9 Delete "Other" Storage
I'm remembering several months ago there was a problem on the S9 where something gobbled lots of storage. I remember my wife losing 33gb...
Anyway, there's a utility called diskusage that might help you find where your storage is hiding:
