No notification

There was a time I got an audible notification, as well as blinking blue led, and a numeral appeared on the e-mail icon when I received e-mail.
NONE of this happens anymore. When I open e-mail app, I will get e-mail after I hit refresh. What have I done this time???? This blamed GS3 is going to be my demise yet!!!!!!!!!!

Recheck your sync settings in both the email app and your related accounts. Ensure nothing accidentally happened to the notification settings for your email app of choice as well.

Yup.....that's what it was.....the sync was turned off.!! My problem now is who to blame, since I am the only user of this device. Is there an app for this??
