I'm really new to Android. This is my first tablet.

I just bought a used Tab 2 which would not boot, after 3 days of non-stop tinkering I got it sorted and it's working again. I downloaded a version called Slim from slimroms, it's nice and light, but I was hoping to put a copy of an original Samsung install on the device.

Does anyone know where I can get a factory image for a tab 2 p5100?

Perhaps someone has made a backup of their install.

    Thanks for any assistance.

I just read through the Kies license agreement and it mentions about not reusing Samsung software, so I assume this would apply in this scenario - I'll keep looking for a solution.

Welcome to Android Central! Moved to the Tab 2 10.1 forum.

Try over at SamMobile: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-P5100/ You can flash the ROM using Odin: http://forums.androidcentral.com/amb...interface.html

Thank you B. Diddy, signed up, signed in, checking out the forum there.
Only thing which confuses me about their forum is no firmware option to select Canada or USA.
I posted that Q. there and waiting for reply.
One bonus, while waiting I found an excellent vid on youtube, by rootjunky, explaining how to rip a stock image. So, I'll find another tablet with a stock install and get to work on it.
    Thanks, again.
