Galaxy tab s2 home screen has disappeared. .

I have a galaxy tab s2. The only thing showing is three dots at the top of the screen, all the apps have gone. When pressed this reveals only two options, 'lock apps' and 'settings. Any ideas what has happened. It's the same in safe mode

hello and thanks for the interest. Screenshot doesn't give much away. Finger print access seems to have stopped also. I have wiped the cache with no effect.

The firmware might have become corrupted. See if you can reinstall the firmware using Smart Switch: http://www.sammobile.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29914

I recently had the same problem. I had done a lot of google searching but this was the only one which specifically showed the screen disappearance and the three dots.
I assumed it was a firmware update that went wrong but tried rebooting and software updates without any luck.
I have now done a factory reset and used the smartswitch app to back-up my data from the above link.
It now seems to be working again
