Wifi turn off on its own after software update

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. I have been having an issue with my wifi since the last OS update. The wifi will randomly turn itself off and won't come back on. When I swipe the switch, it moves to the on position, but it stays greyed out and will never come on no matter how long I wait. I have to reboot my tablet in order for the wifi to work again. I never had this problem before. This only started after the last OS update. Currently running Android 4.42 which I assume is Kit Kat.
