new update cant install?

Ever since early feb 2015 my scheduled updates tells me it has downloaded an large update - about 110Mb - but when it shuts down to install it crashes out at 31% With the little robot falling over. Tablet restarts and advises update not installed.
I have plenty of memory left - about 4gb so no issues there.
I'm already running kit kat.
any ideas?

Ever rooted (even if you unrooted)? The update won't install. Custom ROM? The update won't install. (Either one could brick the device.)

Otherwise, bring it to your carrier and ask them to please install the update because it won't install over the air. (If it's the Lollipop update, you might want to think twice. We're already on the second bug fix, and who knows how many more there will be?)
