    Hello all,

    Recently got 2 tablets as my sister doesn't have any use for them, one was smashed to crap screen wise and the other had a storage failure so I moved the screen and digitizer over while keeping some of the components for just incase sceneries, so I'm just working with the one tablet here with no backups.

    The tablet I fixed has that God awful boot loop, you know, where you power it on for the first time and you look like one of those inflatable tube men with the wavy arms when you see that start up logo then it shuts off and does it again.

    So, the tablet in question is the 7.0" Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (SM-T210R) and I wish to toss the Android KitKat OS on it, I understand there's the official firmware and a custom firmware, ideally I'd like to keep it all official, but you gotta do what ya gotta do, no w this all is easy enough to do, I've done it a few years ago with my last phone but there's a wrench thrown in this whole solution.

    The problem: my PC has the same problem xD
    (I'll get around to buying a new HDD and os for it when ever I can save for it) so I don't really have access to a computer

    My super slick solution:
    So I ended up getting to the recovery system, and noticed I could apply an update through ADB which I know needs a PC but under that shows update from external storage, which had me thinking;

    Can I just download the ROM/firmware from the internet and pop the microSD card into the tablet and install the os from that? I'm assuming if this method works I'll be in either one of 2 places

    1) I just load it in and all is well

    2) I have to go in order 4 -> 4.4

    No, you can't. Fix your PC or get the use of someone else's and flash the right firmware with Odin.

    Hello rukbat, I managed to flash with Odin however when I went through the reboot phase the tablet froze on the 'Samsung galaxy tab 3' screen, now I don't get the boot loop, it just stays on the screen when ever I go to power it up

    Odin version 3.12.7
    Android firmware : SMT210R - CANADA - 4.4.2

    Proccess;
    Ran odin as admin
    Put tablet in download mode
    Got the 'added!' Status from odin
    Checked 'ap' and loaded in the md5 file
    Hit start
    Odin wrnt through all its phases gave me a pass and rebooted the tavlet with 1 success and 0 failures
    Durn the reboot proccess the tablet is stuck on the galaxy screen

    What would you recommend i do, or is the tablet as good as junk?
