I apologize in advance if this is the wrong section for this, I couldnt find an appropriate spot for this post, so, if it is, can a mod/admin please move to the correct section? thank you.
so, I just bought a samsung galaxy tab a 7.0, after my old tablet karked it well and truly, and this was on sale.
after a misadventure with horrendous backlight bleed, and a wifi that 86'd itself, I have a working tablet.
one...teeny..little problem.
I have 45 movies in my play movies library. I can stream them without issue.
when I download them however..of those 45, 35 play without issue. of the 10 that have issues..hooboy do they have issues.
I have attached two screenshots of the same movie. seemed redundant to try for photos of the other 9 movies when they're doing the exact same thing.
in this case, the example of the problem is taken with the movie 'dont tell mom the babysitter is dead' and the photos care of my LG tribute 5 cellphone.
I'm reasonably sure thats way worse than pixelation, I've taken to calling it digital checkerboarding.
I have run the full troubleshooting checklist as recommended by google, including but not limited to deleting the app's cache, clearing the app's data, deleting and then redownloading the movie(did the same on my sister's wifi to rule my net out) and even some non standard measures, such as factory resetting the device, swapped the microsd card...
I should point out this is the third example of the device, so we can reasonably rule out hardware issues as the proximate cause of this.
three devices cannot possibly have the same hardware defect, the odds on this are such, that I'd have better odds getting struck by a car, returning home from a walk across the street after purchasing a winning scratch off lotto ticket.
what I want to know are three things..
1, are there other owners of the samsung galaxy tab a 7.0 here on these forums
2, do those owners presently have issues with downloaded titles on play movies
3, are there any fixes for this or other alternative players that can play content from play movies?
