Is there an application that allows you to take a 360-degree photo of the outside of a car, sort of like a panoramic photo?

The objective is to walk around the car and take photos every few steps (or degrees) and the app will 'stitch' them together, so you can view them later and you turn the image.

There are apps that can do it, but it is for car dealers, and requires a paid account, and Internet server connection to create and host the photo. It's so you can embed the photo into a web page for customers to view and spin the car, before a purchase.

It would be fine if you had to upload the images or video to a server to create the spin-able photo, which you download and view on your phone or Tab A.

The closest I can find after a quick search is Autodesk's ReCap Pro, but I don't believe it's compatible with Android: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e?...token=JVJdCKf_

I'm sure there are several. I remember a while back I got an app that did just this. I only played around with it, with no real purpose, taking pics of soda cans and cups. I want to say it had a really simple name like 3D Camera... I think what you're looking for is something like Fyuse - 3D Photos. It's only 3.8 stars at the Play Store but it has 5M downloads. You could also check out some of the similar to apps listed under its description.

The 3-D photo applications just stack use photos or videos to give you the perception of depth, not a continuous photo of the object from all 360 degrees of reference.

I don't believe you looked at Fyuse then or mistook its name including "3D" for others that you've looked at or used. It allows you to walk around an object and reproduce an image that is a continuous photo of the object from every angle. The images produced can be rotated by turning the device or by pushing side to side with your finger. I have a couple of images that I will attempt to post in the next comment. Just not sure how they will render as I've never tried to send one.

I attempted to post this as an attachment but could not because the Android Central app or Android Central in general won't allow me to post it because it renders as a GIF. The GIF is uncontrollable but the image in the app is controllable by rotating the device or by dragging with a finger. The app even figures out what the central item is so that it rotates around it and not anything else.

    Fyuse didn't work.
After trying it in the house, then trying it in the yard, it did not record a 360-degree image. The best result was a blurry image of part of the object, and it did not turn complete around. It's not even compatible with a Tab A with API 28. The test device had Android 7.

I did find an app that might work. It's called Glo3D. I used the camera application to record a 360-degree video of an object, then used the Glo3D app to convert the video to an image that you can actually operate by swiping. The swiping essentially moves the video forward or back, and the rest depends on your ability to keep the object centered and steady.

You still need an Internet connection, but you can at least do most of the work without it. I will keep searching for a better alternative.

Sorry it wasn't compatible. It worked so well for me that I decided to keep it. Have no idea what I'm going to do with it but for now it's a fun little toy to have in the basket.
