Which Tab A do you have, and where did you get it? Did it come with Google apps preinstalled? If it was intended for certain regions, it might not be certified for Google Play, and therefore not be compatible with Google Play Services.

Have the 9.7" model. Purchased from Target about 2 weeks ago. Yes Google apps preinstalled. First time seen this message.

This kind of thing can happen temporarily when Google Play Services is in the process of automatically updating. It usually clears up a few minutes later. Is it still happening?
