My 9 year old son uses the Galaxy Tab pro 10.1 for everyday gaming. Lately he has been complaining a lot that the battery drains out very suddenly while playing...example from 70% to 15% . And when i switch off the tablet for a while and switch it on again the battery goes up to 50%.

Anyone has the same battery problems?

Its because if you operates many applications at atime or heavy memory applications then the tab goes to heavy load and your battery drains quickly thats why if you restart your tab it shows 50% battery.
If you use normal apps without heavy loading then charging decreases gradually not instantly

Hmmm....Thanks a lot for the reply!
Actually most of the times he plays heavy games and that might cause the battery draining fast.
I will have a look at it based on your comments.
Any other suggestions in order to remwdy this???

Install this application and using it to monitor your battery how much it drops after playing video for 1 hour.
You may need a movie file which lasts around 1 hour or more. Good battery should drop only around 20% for playing video in 1 hour.
A battery replacement may cost only around $30 but be sure it's bad. Sometimes, a bad battery connector may cause a quick discharge.
If you know how to open this tablet, open and inspect the battery connector and slightly push it under magnified glass. If it's moving then it needs to re solder to fix the connection to motherboard.

Inspect this battery connector first, replace new battery won't solve the problem if it's loose. It's very common in Samsung tablets.
This is from Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 but it's similar to Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 . If you don't know how to solder, a repair shop can do it but they cannot charge you much if they're told what to do and it takes less than 5 minutes. A good battery should not drop more than 20% with maximum settings after 1 hour of playing movie; this rule can apply for other Samsung tablets but you should expect less for smaller screen size.

    Sudden Battery draining issues anyone?-sun-may-24-11-43-16.jpg

A quick test to verify that the battery connector is bad. Slap hard on the back cover near the center with your hand, it won't break the LCD but the tablet will shut down immediately if it has a loose battery connector. Battery's capacity readings go up and down are signs of bad or loose connector.

I have the same battery draining issues. my tab goes from a full or close to full charge to about 60% then drops to less than 10% in less than 15 minutes. could it be a bad battery? I have had my tab about a year and a half. Also, if you use it while charging it, will it cause this issue?

It seems the source of problem already mentioned many times but many users still believe it's from something else
Read the threat 17 and 18, two persons actually know how to solder fixing the battery draining issue. It happens almost to every Samsung tablets, those have battery connector located at the center , the weakest point of a tablet.
