Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 default keyboard does not appear on screen

It appears to me I can open a browser and navigate to my library's web site but I can not sign-in to the library when I am asked for my library number and password.

I had a bluetooth keyboard that did not work so I returned it and reverted back to the default samsung on-screen keyboard about 3 months ago. Everything worked well until yesterday. All of a sudden when I press inside a text box (like my library's box to enter my library number) and expect the keyboard to appear, either nothing happens at all or the screen (or part of the screen) darkens and then nothing happens.

So far I can resolve the issue by going into "Controls" and navigating to "Keyboards and Input Methods" and then press the Settings icon behind the Samsung Keyboard choice (which is already selected and grayed out). Finally I choose "Reset settings". After that I turn off the Tab Pro 12.2 and start it up again.

The problems appears when I try to fill out some type of registration form. I click in the box to entry my name and nothing happens.

Your help is greatly appreciated. I am a senior citizen and a new user of the Tab Pro 12.2 who an use your help.

Welcome to Android Central! Is the tablet's Bluetooth turned on? Does the problem persist if you turn off Bluetooth?

Re: Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 default keyboard does not appear on screen

I just turned off bluetooth and I could log-in to my library. Thanks for the suggestion. I have a bluetooth mouse that does work well with my Tab Pro 12.2. Is there a way to have bluetooth turned on and still be able to get the default samsung on-screen keyboard to work?

So far I have not looked for another bluetooth keyboard. Any suggestions as to a good bluetooth keyboard are welcome.

Logitech pro keyboard works with this tablet. I have one and am very happy with it. When the keyboard is on (connected by bluetooth) the on screen keyboard does not appear. But that's the way I want it to work.

Glad to hear that worked for you. But something still seems odd. You said you returned the Bluetooth keyboard you had, so presumably you have no other Bluetooth keyboards lying around at home. If the tablet doesn't detect the Bluetooth keyboard nearby, it shouldn't think it's still connected (which is why I think the onscreen keyboard isn't showing up).

Go to Settings>Bluetooth. Do you still see the old Bluetooth keyboard listed there? If so, long-press it, and tap Forget.

Sorry for my mistake. I still have a bluetooth blue tooth MOUSE that works well with the tab pro 12.2. Unfortunately, my mouse requires bluetooth 'on' and the samsung on-screen keyboard requires bluetooth off. So, bluetooth is nowell off. I can try to get another bluetooth keyboard but I sure want bluetooth available.

That seems kind of odd though. You tablet should be "intelligent" enough to discern that you do not currently have a Bluetooth keyboard connected to it and, therefore, show the on screen keyboard when a dialog for text input occurs.

I agree with you. I do believe after I returned the bluetoath keyboard, the bluetooth mouse continued to work for awhile (perhaps a few weeks). The situation now is bluetooth must be off to see the on-screen keyboard.

I have the Tab Pro 12.2 and use the Samsung brand Bluetooth keyboard case purchased from Amazon and it works great! It's made specifically for the Tab/Note Pro 12.2 tablets. I highly recommend it.
